Baby boomers turn 50 at the rate of 1 every 7 1/2 seconds. They are more concerned than ever with maintaining a youthful appearance.
Wrinkles, one of the first visible signs of aging, form as the collagen and elastin fibers that support our skin break down and wear out. While this breakdown is part of the natural aging process, excessive squinting, frowning, smoking and smiling can accelerate it. Collagen can decrease as much as 1% per year after we reach the age of 40.
Recent advances in treatment options have continued to improve, from dermabrasion and chemical peels to CO2 and ERBIUM laser skin resurfacing. With dermabrasion, layers of skin are actually sanded away and in chemical peels, layers of skin are burned away with an acid solution. CO2 and ERBIUM laser skin resurfacing have given the surgeon more control and made skin resurfacing safer and more predictable. However, these lasers exfoliate the skin, which requires bandages and a longer recovery period.
What is the NLite™ laser?
The NLite was designed specifically to combat the effects of aging gently. NLite laser treatments are performed by our doctor for patients in our region. NLite is a revolutionary non-ablative laser that does not wound the surface of the skin. The laser energy is focused beneath the skin to gently stimulate the production of collagen. The new collagen fills in and softens the appearance of wrinkles and aging skin. These precise treatments may take from 10 - 30 minutes depending on the size and number of wrinkles being treated.
What will my recovery from NLite laser treatments be like?
NLite facial rejuvenation is so gentle there is no interruption to your normal life.
During your series of in-office treatments, you will see ongoing improvement in how your skin looks and feels. No tissue is removed. There is no oozing or crusting as associated with laser treatments, chemical peels and dermabrasion. Bandages are not required.
You can watch as your skin gradually rebuilds from the inside and restores a more youthful appearance to your face. Over a few months, our NLite facial rejuvenation treatments can restore what nature has diminished.
Are NLite facial rejuvenation treatments for you?
Our physician will review your medical history, age, skin type and pigmentation, consider your desired results, and determine the best course of treatment for you. Results will vary from patient to patient depending on age, skin type, and condition.
Who are the best candidates for NLite treatments?
All patients that wish to reduce the signs of aging, postpone more aggressive treatments or prolong the results of previous treatments can benefit from NLite facial rejuvenation. Even patients with pigmentation that precludes the use of lasers or those who might wish to postpone the cost of laser and surgical treatments will benefit from our NLite facial rejuvenation treatments.

How many NLite treatments will I need?

After our doctor performs your NLite treatments, your maintenance program will last as long as you would like to retard the effects of aging or the need for a more aggressive treatment such as laser resurfacing or a facelift.
